Yeovil Model Railway Group will be having their annual Open Day on Sunday 7th July 2019 from 10am to 4:30pm.  Most of our layouts will be operating and there will be a raffle.  Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be available throughout the day.

Club Layouts:

‘Evercreech New’ – 7mm Finescale – Its first Viewing with Prestleigh and Pecking Mill Viaducts under construction.
‘Gas Works’ – 7mm Finescale – Still popular with everyone being drawn into its level of detail.
‘South Junction’ – 4mm EM gauge – An old favourite.  You can’t beat a good tailchaser!
‘Toddington Hall’ – 4mm OO9 gauge – A narrow gauge layout constructed by the younger club members.
Test tracks – 00 and N – Both switchable between DC & DCC, for you to use.

Members Layouts on Show:

‘St Martins Wharf’ – 7mm finescale – Building on the Gasworks concept with a Colonel Stephens type Railway.
‘Halsdon Road – 7mm finescale – O gauge modern Image.
‘Holly Junction’ – 4mm OO gauge – As always lots of things to see and spot on Holly Junction.
‘Horsebridge Yard’ – 4mm OO gauge – A recent addition to the club’s stable of layouts that can be called upon.
‘Yeovil Town’ – 4mm OO gauge – A scale model of Yeovil Town.

To Demonstrate Construction Techniques:

Plank Road – 7mm finescale – a member new layout showing Radio Controlled running – not available due to lack of stock.
Heyno Junction – 4mm OO finescale – Our open framed squashed figure of 8 layout based on Aynho Junction.
The Bank – 2mm N gauge – The very latest addition to the club based on Hemerdon Bank.

Please Note that this is not an event open to the general public.  Due to increased costs of putting on the Open day including the insurance, we will be asking for a donation for entry.
